Cotswold Stone Roof Tiles

Natural stone has been used for roofs in the UK for over 2000 years. It is both easy to shape and extremely durable and long lasting. A stone roof can last for well over 100 years and ages beautifully, becoming weathered with lichens and moss. Local Cotswold stone, a Jurassic limestone, ages a distinctive multi-tonal dark beige and has come to represent rural life and culture in an area spanning three counties.

Slates are laid in diminishing courses, decreasing in size towards the ridge of the roof, and they hang from timber batons. We supply both Stonesfield slates that are frost split (thinner and flatter) and Tetbury tiles that are hand split (heavier and rougher).

Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and make an order, or if you have an old roof you want to take down.
